His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State, “may God protect him”, congratulated the people of the UAE, residents, and Arab and Islamic peoples on Friday, February 28, 2025, on the advent of the holy month of Ramadan.

Mohammed bin Zayed said in a post on the “x” platform: “I congratulate the people of the UAE, residents, and Arab and Islamic peoples on the occasion of the advent of the holy month of Ramadan, and I pray to God Almighty that it will be a month of goodness and peace for all peoples of the world.”
He added: “Ramadan is a month of goodness, mercy, and good deeds, and an opportunity to strengthen the values of family and community cohesion.”
The Presidential Court in the United Arab Emirates announced, on Friday evening, that the crescent moon of the holy month of Ramadan 1446 AH has been sighted, making Saturday, March 1, 2025, the first day of the holy month in the country.
The official statement issued by the court read:
“In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.. The Presidential Court announces, based on the decision of the Ramadan Crescent Sighting Committee issued by the Emirates Fatwa Council for the year 1446 AH, which met this evening, Friday, at the Al Hosn site in the capital, Abu Dhabi, that the crescent moon of the holy month of Ramadan has been sighted, and accordingly, Saturday, March 1, 2025, will be the first day of the holy month in the country.”
